SciTech Upperclassmen Mentor Students

Large projects, like the Science Fair, can certainly leave both parents and students with a knot of anxiety and stressful last minute efforts the night before it’s due. In an effort to better support middle school families and build building-wide learning communities, high school students in our concentration sciences as well as our Big Ideas courses devoted an hour of their time to provide feedback to our current 6-8th grade middle school students.  Mentors and mentees alike remarked about the benefits of this activity for both improving academics and establishing a positive culture for research critique.
