SciTech Students Participate in Hour of Code

On Monday, December 14th, all students from Sci Tech Academy’s grades 6 through grade 8 participated in Hour of Code activities organized and run by high school students in the Computers and Connections concentration and electives classes, as well as a group of students from the FTC.  Serving as an introduction to Computer Science and related fields, activities ranged from classic code.org challenges, to creating holiday cards using Scratch, as well as sessions where students wrote in HTML5, Python and Java, including editing student-developed games.  There were also sessions where students were able to work hands-on with Arduino kits and the FTC’s robotics projects.
